The wonderful ad photo shows barrels sold to be fresh and new! NOT! The barrels received were once used to hold imported olives! Shame shame shame on seller for misrepresenting product to be sold. BUYER beware. You will NOT get a barrel clean shiny and new like the one pictured! We will not do business with these folks again!

When you need to be able to move a drum around from one place to another within the workplace, or need to be able to get a barrel out of the storage area without having to lift it onto a trolley every time you want to move it, then a 55 gallon drum dolly is generally the best possible solution to your needs. A drum dolly is a simple unit with 4 casters that the drum sits in, and allows it to be moved around.

There are a number of different designs of 55 gallon drum dollies available, and all of them work in exactly the same way. Simply acting as a moveable stand for the drum to rest on in order for it to be moved around, a dolly is one of the most utilitarian objects that you could possibly need, and thanks to the simplicity of the design, they are very reliable.

The main consideration that you need to make when selecting the right drum dolly for your needs is to choose one that is able to support 55 Gallon Barrel the amount of weight that your drums contain. The most basic models available, plastic 55 gallon drum dollies can hold up to 600 pounds in weight, and feature a simple base and are available in a number of different colors which you can use for color coding to ensure that staff choose the right drum for their needs.

At the other end of the spectrum, an octagonal 55 gallon drum dollies with 8 wheels has a maximum capacity of 2,000 ponds in weight, meaning that it is capable of carrying a fully laden barrel without staff having to worry about the safety aspect of the dolly collapsing.

There are a number of different ways of moving 55 gallon drum dollies around the workplace, but for maximum safety, staff should avoid pushing them. The reason for this is that although it is highly unlikely that a drum could topple over in motion, placing a large mount of force at the very top of the drum may well cause it to fall, especially if it hits a hole in the ground or goes down a slope, which can happen without warning in many industrial environments. To counter the likelihood of this happening, most dollies and carts have a built in handle attached to the base, and this ensures that the majority of movement is below the center of gravity of the drum as it is moved around, and significantly reduces any toppling risk that there might be otherwise.

Whether you are using the drums as waste storage, and want to be able to make it easy to get around the facility in order to dispose of the contents properly, or have a stock of oil or other liquid within the drums and need to make it easy for staff to stock up with smaller quantities of liquid at their individual work stations, 55 gallon drum dollies make internal distribution a simple matter, and improve the overall efficiency of your processes at a relatively low investment cost.

The barrel arrived pretty quickly, but is a used barrel. The ad description did not say anything about it being used merchandise. Shipped without a box. Paint job is all scuffed up. Looks five years old.
The two spigots just screw into the pre-drilled holes in the plastic. No bushings to screw into. Sure hope they don’t leak when the barrel fills with water.

I would definitely recommend this product. After searching for quite some time, I purchased my rain barrel from Amazon because they had the lowest price. The barrel is made very well and looks wonderful in front of our home. Everyone has complimented us on how nice it looks. The color of the rain barrel is a light brown and that is not totally clear when you look at the picture online, the picture almost appears as if the barrel is gray. I plan to purchase another one in the very near future.

I love the product. I worry about the winter and am planning on bringing it in before the big freeze.
The over flow could have been better thought out. I added a hose attachment. 55 gallons fills up fast around here. When I say fast I mean in the first hour when it rained hard. With the hose attachment I can put the overflow where I want it.

We have a medium-sized mosquito farm that we’ve been slowly expanding for about the last 16 years, ever since we moved into my mom’s old house after she died. It started with a small coffee can, maxwell house, I think, that mom left out on the old concrete patio before she died. She’d been using it as an ashtray, but while she was in the nursing home for those long 18 months, rain after rain downfall raised the water to the top of the can, where the cigarette butts swam up like little larvae and floated off out of the can onto the patio. Over time the can, now free of mom’s old butts, became a bird bath, and then a little nursery pool for the local mosquitoes. I distinctly remember looking for a place to put out my cigarette, and noticing all the little mosquito larvae swimming around in there one humid summer night when we were playing horseshoes. Well, those little larvae loved living in there so much that we slowly added a veritable treasure trove of new homes for the little guys to grow up in by simply not participating in the neighborhood recycling (a total rip-off as you have to buy the recycling can from our town, not to mention the fact that you have to walk it all the way down our driveway, which is not paved, to the highway, and then go back down there and PICK IT UP again, after they come dump it out). Anyway, after our main car died, we put it up on cinder blocks out in the yard, took the tires off and set them on the patio, then got distracted with something else. A while later, we discovered that the tires also made wonderful homes for our little critters, and they loved to swim around and grow up there until they were ready to eclose and fly away. Boy, they really loved swimming around in those puddles that accumulated inside the old tires on the patio. That’s why we knew that this rain catcher was going to be such a wonderful addition to our little nursery on the patio. Now our medium-sized farm/nursery is able to grow with a big, deep, and new mosquito pond!!

Happy I selected this Barrel as it doesn’t look like a trash can under the downspout. It is very sturdy and is easy to set up. Has a nice bottom drain needed for freeze zones. I only wish they made a larger one, maybe 80-100 gallons.
